Client Services Representative
Are you as passionate about helping people as you are animals? Our Client Services team members are the first to help new animals coming into our facility and the last to say goodbye to the ones leaving for their adoptive homes. Team members share information about our various programs, resources to keep animals out of the shelter system and work hard to reunite lost pets with their owners. And of course they get to play ‘matchmaker’ to potential adopters and the animals in our care as they review all adoption applications.

Placement Coordinator – Part Time
How are your matchmaking skills? Our Placement Coordinators are responsible for timely processing of client applications and facilitating adoptions at the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA and the Petsmart Adoption Center in Harrisonburg, VA.
The position is a flex position with an expectation of the employee to work (50%) remotely and (50%) in person at the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA or Petsmart Adoption Center in Harrisonburg, VA.

Animal Care Manager
The animal care team are the caregivers and matchmakers for the animals in our care. They provide for the daily husbandry needs of the animals keeping their environment clean, the animals fed and exercised and closely monitoring their behavioral and medical health. They gather photos and videos of the animals, write bios for the website and help work on their manners to improve their adoptability. And when the animals are ready for adoption they diligently play matchmaker to pair each animal with their adoptive family.
We are searching for an animal care manager to lead this team. An energetic, solution oriented individual who can support a large team of staff and volunteers and work closely with the animal health and foster managers to optimize the flow of animals in our care. Planning, coaching and great communication are qualities essential to success in this role.
Ideal candidate will have prior experience manage staff and animal population of over 150 in an animal shelter.
Exempt, full time position with a salary range of $50 – $55k.

Animal Care Team: Dog Care Position
Have a love for dogs and like working with people? Consider joining our amazing Animal Care Team. We’re looking for someone outgoing, energetic and detail oriented. A team of three team members each day is responsible for cleaning, feeding, exercising and helping find adoptive homes for the dogs in our care. We maintain a population of sixty to sixty five dogs at the shelter, each with their unique personalities and needs. Position offers hands on experience working with dogs so if you’re thinking of a career in veterinary medicine or dog training, this maybe be the ideal position for you.
Full Time Position (40 Hours)

Five days a week. 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (some weekends included)

Volunteer Program & Client Services Team Support Role
This unpaid internship role will help with coordinating, overseeing, and training volunteers under the guidance of the Volunteer Manager. This position also assists the Client Services Team which is responsible for administrative tasks, intakes, outcomes, financial records, and sanitation of the public areas.
