Animal Care Team: Isolation/Quarantine (ISO/Q) Position
The Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA is looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Animal Care Team in a critical role working with Isolation and Quarantine animals. This is one of the most important positions in our organization, ensuring that sick and recovering animals receive the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily husbandry, including cleaning and feeding, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for animals in isolation and quarantine.
- Monitor medical and behavioral health, reporting changes to veterinary and animal care leadership.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications as directed by veterinary staff.
- Implement enrichment and exercise plans to support the well-being and recovery of sick animals.
- Maintain accurate records and follow biosecurity protocols to prevent the spread of illness.
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about animal welfare with a strong commitment to disease management and recovery.
- Detail-oriented and able to follow protocols related to medical care and sanitation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling animals with various medical and behavioral needs.
- Prior experience in animal care or shelter work is preferred but not required.

Client Services Team: Client Service Position
Join Our Team: Client Services Representative
The Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA is seeking a compassionate and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Client Services Representative. This role is essential in ensuring a welcoming and supportive experience for our clients while contributing to RHSPCA’s lifesaving efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide courteous, informative, and helpful service to clients, including adopters, pet owners, and the public.
- Perform intakes and outcomes for animals, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to shelter policies.
- Educate and assist clients with pet adoption, lost and found pets, surrendering animals, and other shelter services.
- Contribute to departmental goals and assist in implementing best shelter practices to enhance the RHSPCA’s impact.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate approach while handling sensitive situations with clients.
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a passion for helping both people and animals.
- Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in animal welfare, shelter operations, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable handling a variety of situations, including emotionally challenging conversations.

Volunteer Program & Client Services Team Support Role
This unpaid internship role will help with coordinating, overseeing, and training volunteers under the guidance of the Volunteer Manager. This position also assists the Client Services Team which is responsible for administrative tasks, intakes, outcomes, financial records, and sanitation of the public areas.
