Old Dominion Rentals Sponsors Pet Of The Week To Support Efforts of RHSPCA.

Donna Fulk of Old Dominion Rentals has been on the front lines of this year’s dog population crisis. Back in March, a good samaritan brought in an emaciated dog with her eight puppies. They had been found on the side of the road in Broadway, VA and were in desperate need of a temporary home away from the shelter while they served their stray hold and prepared for adoption. Shelter staff reached out to Donna to see if she’d be willing to take on the dog that we now know as Poppy, along with her puppies. Donna was an experienced foster who had taken on nursing moms with puppies in the past, and she was up for the challenge. After the puppies were weaned a few weeks later, Donna kept fostering Poppy while she received medical treatment to prepare for adoption. When the time came to place Poppy up for adoption, Donna’s husband just couldn’t let her go. Poppy joined the Fulk family in July 2024, and is the luckiest dog! 

Donna shared that she believed that RHSPCA is an important part of the community because it gives animals a safe place to start over. Without the facility, there would be so many more dogs in the same situation as Poppy – dumped by the side of the road. She was glad to learn of the sponsorship opportunity as she was happy to help this very needed cause.
